As you can see, NONE of your practice data or patient health information ever traverses the World Wide Web…on the contrary, it remains within PracticeIT’s private network and is backed-up in redundant storage facilities ensuring both Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity concerns.
Security
The System provided by PracticeIT will collect and store Physician data that is properly saved in accordance to the PracticeIT User Guide. The PracticeIT application delivered to Physician via an internet is hosted at a Tier IV Internet Data Center which provides multi-layered security, 24x7 monitoring, redundant power generators, environmental controls and cooling systems, fire suppression and off site backup.
PracticeIT’s network infrastructure employs firewalling, encryption/decryption and systematic intrusion detection. PracticeIT’s tiered architecture isolates the application database from outside access. Mirrored Storage Area Network (SAN) drives store and isolate data. These mirrored drives provide fail-over protection between SAN disk volumes. Within the duplicate disk storage units on the SAN, RAID 5 technology is employed for additional data redundancy. Tape backups of the application data are executed nightly and then stored in geographically separate secure data centers at specified intervals.
